MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – After six years at NBC15, Amy Pflugshaupt’s final reside broadcast will likely be March 4.

All this week, she is trying again at a few of her most memorable tales. You may see them throughout NBC15 Information at 5 and 10.

Sept. 22, 2015 – Working Mother of the 12 months

Once I was first assigned this story, I keep in mind being simply blown away by the resume of Alysia Hanson. I knew even earlier than assembly her that she was greater than deserving of the title, “Working Mother of the 12 months.” She’s a spouse, mom of two, balancing grad faculty and dealing full-time as a nurse.

I had at all times heard the saying, “A mom would do something for his or her little one.” I higher perceive it, since I’m now a mom myself. After a lifetime of medical problems for her son, Alysia did what she says any mom would do. She donated her kidney to her son, Braxton.

“Clearly to me it was a no brainer.” She continued, “I’ve two kidneys. He wants one so I’m going to provide him one.”

In my thoughts there actually aren’t phrases to explain what an inspiration she is to me, particularly now since I’m a working mother myself. I really like this recommendation she shared with me again in 2015 and it couldn’t be extra true particularly on this period of COVID.

“This expertise has taught us to understand the small issues in life and never dwell on the destructive.”
