INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana donor recipients are working collectively to assist hold these on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic secure.
Jennifer Weber and Julia Rejer are each organ transplant recipients and dealing to assist pay it ahead.
“That is the one manner I understand how to say thanks is by giving my time,” Rejer stated.
They’re each volunteering with the Indiana Donor Community to assist make masks.
“I used to be sort of anxious about my healthcare staff and all folks and all of the folks I depend on and I’ve gotten to know through the years, I needed to actually really feel like I used to be serving to out,” Weber stated.
Rejer has made greater than 1,000 masks and located an alternative choice to elastic. She discovered an outdated stitching machine in her storage and is studying as she goes.
“I dug it out, turned it on, watched a couple of movies, and once I bought caught, I reached out to Julia,” Rejer stated.
Collectively, they’re proving crew work is what it takes and we are able to get by means of this after we work collectively.
The volunteers have made masks for staff at Ascension St. Vincent and Eskenazi Hospital.
