For someone in need of a kidney transplant, the wait time for a compatible organ could last anywhere from five...
I'm going in for my fistula tomorrow I've been on dialysis for about 6 months after reading the comments I'm more depressed than I was.
Dialysis was more like a Torture Device.
Hi there, I was on haemodialysis for 19 years and during that time I carried out my dialysis at home for 17.5 years and then I received a call for a kidney transplant, which was successful and lasted 12.5 years, but sadly my transplant failed and now back on dialysis three times a week.
I was enjoying my life and freedom for the duration of my transplant but now resigned to being hooked up to a machine just to stay alive.
All I can say is that I have endured lots of trauma in my last 30 years of illness, failed fistula, heart attacks, knee replacement, the list goes
on. I think I have survived and done lots of things like travelling to far off places with my portable dialysis machine (Redy 2000), and the support
of my family, especially my wife and my son and daughter and gave me the strength to keep going.
I’m on dialysis for the past two months and finding it very difficult to cope with the routine of visiting the hospital three times a week and controlling the amount of fluid intake and dietary restrictions.
My message is to stay positive no matter what lies ahead.

Beloveds. This is my precious cousin who is a warrior in our family. Whom I've missed dearly. She's always had a comforting way of speaking. A fun loving spirit. I tell my children all the time what strong women we have in our family. Dialysis is a cleaning process to keep people alive. My mother Jane was on Dialysis before she died. In Oct. 2003. Bless her and keep her strong Lord. And everyone on Dialysis. Smile
Its gonna be ok. ❤ Her mom is a true inspiration as well we love you Toni hang in there. Big cousin hug
We are strong
Thanks for this video. I am facing this soon.
I'm started dialysis when I was 23 years old in 2007 year. Hello from 2019 year!
My husband didn’t last long on dialysis a little over 1 1/2 years he never had the mind set or attitude for this type of living! He was 50 past away 7-22-19 one week before his birthday!
Respect
I am praying for you Angela
I am on dialysis for 6 months now
Angela was one of my first patients back in the 80’s when I started working in dialysis! She was spunky and funny but strong! God bless her!
I've been on dialysis about 3 years, I dont dwell on the exact time. I have also tried peridialysis, but that was not for me. My labs are good, I'm not exhausted after or between treatments. I stick to my allotted 32 ounces per day. I've just started walking to keep a strong heart, and I love it. I look at dialysis as my job and life as my paycheck. I'm hoping to find a dialysis support group, and get a job in my near future. I will be 52 in June.
Very inspiring. Going on 5 years. This gives me strength ❤️
So the body can never heal itself 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I’m a pretty new dialysis tech. This was very eye opening.
