Hello I don't see where many of questions have been answered if you would like some questions answered about home dialysis I can share my experience.
THANK YOU SO MUCH !! I know this video is some years old but I am currently learning to do Home Hemo. I keep forgetting the part when you do the saline and that little white double ended connector kept throwing me and now you have jogged my memory and it’s helped me no end xx
Thank you for this video. I am forwarding it to my friend for her son. Blessings to you both. 🙏❤️
Hello thank you for sharing! I am about to start and totally scared!

My husband will soon start home hemodialysis as soon as his body has adjusted. He started dialysis last week in clinic. This was a great video to show me what I will be doing soon.
Hi so encouraging to see you set up at home. I wish to do same for me. Would like to know what water RO unit did you install
It looks painful😭
Its amazing guys i salute you both 😍 praise GOD 😇
Wow! 500 BF? That pretty high! I've heard that could be not so good on your fistula over a period of time. I usually run a 350 no more higher then 400 BF. It's easier on the heart and vascular system:) very informative video! I've been doing dialysis for 29 years. (7 at home)
Hi. Im stage 5 kidney failure amd getting ready to do dialysis .. I want to do PD dialysis. Seems easier to do through night an continue with my days .. But what do u think is easier? Pls let me know.i will be going in for surgery consult in the next month an will be having to make a descion

Thanks for your help. Take care. Best Gabriel
Thank you so much for sharing, from someone thinking about doing home dialysis. I hope have found your kidney!
This was an awesome and informative video chock full of awesome info I truly needed at this time. I am also ESRD for the last two years at Davita. Im on TTS days. Thanks You both for showing me that it takes two to survive this thing and I am especially envious of the love and strong bond You two share as a ride or die couple. Thanks so much for the inspiration and giving me relationship goals! Godspeed with Your continued success and fortuitous favor upon Your relationship! Stay stronger and live longer together, always! -NDN-O
Thank you for sharing! I am going to have to be on dyalisys soon. This is helpful! It is a scary situation! Obviously you understand.
Thank you very much for taking the time end efforts to make this video. You did a great job. You are such a great couple and you are fortunate to have each other. Good luck to you both.
Very informative. I'm happy going to the center since they switched me to a location that's only 5 mins away. If I can no longer get a transplant I think I'll switch to home dialysis to live out my last years
Oats can balance electrolytes in body. Put oats on your protein and vagetables broth.
Keep me remember in your preys.
We have iPads now for flow sheets
Hi guys! I am currently considering at home dialysis and this was very helpful to watch. I just noticed that it was filmed in 2014 (the year my kidney failed). Are you still looking for a donor?
Thank you for this video…:)
I am a home dialysis patient considering going to home Hemo. I have a tube in my abdomen and it works okay. Not sure if I can do home hemo. She is right on about cramping. I got off doing it at the clinic with a fistula to the home PD. Thanks for the video
so happy about transplant…think we will just keep doing what we are doing. past prime for transplant,, darn.
makes me want to do a video….we use some very different techniques in cleaning and set up. 8 hours night hemo….4 days a week. same equipment, no vitals and an apple tablet connected to machine and nurse for flowheet for vitals and has alarm references….tells you what to do with each alarm… It is a labor of love and cooperation..god bless you. And so young… we are in early 70s..
My dad went from PD TO Hemodialysis,
hemodialysis is a lot of work and you need a strong support system. I didn’t think we would ever learn how to properly set up the cycler, but with the help of a few great nurses we were on the roll in no time.
I love the way you guy help each other , watching this video has made it a lot easier also. “My first week , I dropped the lines and had to start over at least three time .. that’s 15 mins each time.
Y’all are such a sweet couple! I’m a dialysis patient and I was curious how it’s done at home and seems like a lot to keep up with. But I love how y’all work as a team 🤗 God bless!!!
A slower rate / longer dialysis is much much easier on your heart
What caused Tammy's ESRD?
Great video. Thanks! I start training in a week…
How do you find doing 5 days of dialysis as opposed to only 3 days in the renal unit? Doing more dialysis of course involves more stress on the heart and vascular system which is not good for the body! Of course the NxStage machine is an inferior dialysis machine to the 'high end' machines used in the renal units this is why the home dialysis patients are advised and required to do 5 days of treatment to meet ethical dialysis treatment requirements, as the clearance on the NxStage machine is lower due to lower pump speed modulation. Notwithstanding if a pump speed of 400 was obtained it would not improve the clearance on the NxStage unlike the 'high end' machines used in renal units! The only real benefits to the NxStage are that one does not have the hassle of going to the renal unit 3 times per week, and one can do dialysis when one choses throughout the day or night!
Is the time on dialysis relative to the amount of fluid coming off?
I am grateful for the fact that I have a port-a-cath (thankfully though I don't have cancer and need chemo or kidney failure and need dialysis) due to my veins being a piece of crap because of having CIDP (chronic inflammatory demyalating polyneuropathy) flares and needing treatment with IVIG.
Been waching this video for 2 years + now. Since my father died (back in 2015) due to ESRD, I always made it a habbit to watch these kind of videos. It's very inspiring and heartwarming at the same time. Knowing that back when my dad was alive when he's on this period of his life, I used to see these scenes as well – at home cleaning his fistulas, preparing the meds, the machine, and all the laborious processes that's done every day. I admire your perseverance and the the unconditional love for each other. I hope she's well and doing fine, she's very jolly and has that positive vibe – which also made me watch this vid for such a long time. Mabuhay! from the Philippines – Bryan
