On this video I make a kidney protected dish. Meals that’s fit for human consumption when on dialysis. That includes my good buddy and submit kidney transplant survivor, Jeremy Sky.

Who remembers Jeremy from the ending of this video? https://youtu.be/5vaFpvjaY8Q
can you do more of these, it's so hard to find recipes for this sorta stuff
Thanks guys, im diagnosed with CKD stage 4 and i recently change my diet to vegan. Its not easy and my parents think im a hippie now lol. Thanks for the video
Omg he was not dying. The high Mortallityrate on dialysis stems from the average dialysispatient being old as fuck. If you are young and fit dialysis just sucks but wont kill you.
Would like to see a vid like this for those with kidney stones who have to eat low oxalate foods, many of which are vegan staples. Struggling to figure out how to eat when most of the foods I eat are on the "avoid" list. 🙁
I have heard that broccoli is high in potassium. Please advise.
Finally found a kidney friendly vegan meal, i suffer with oxalate kidney stones and certain vegetables are very high in them and i end up in hospital with multiple kidney stones in both kidneys can you please do more videos of low oxalate meals thank you
This video has really helped me, thank you!!! I have stage 3 kidney disease, but my doctor has been really unhelpful and I want to eat better. Been eating vegan for 25yrs, 7yrs ago I came across 30bad and didntknow I had kidney issues, I thought the fruit diet would be good for me… in 6mths I gain about 4 stone and was incredicle sick, ill and I think if I carried on I would have died. I started changing the fruit and look and feel much better, I was diagnosed last year but because it isn't that bad doctors don't seem to want to know, and I want to reverse it. ive been eating tufo and sweet potato and didn't know it wasn't that great so will try quinoa – Does Jeremy still have to have dialysis?
This is strange, Ive been getting palpitations lately after food for hrs, Ive stopped coffee enemas and cut down on english teas, I did do carnivore for 3 days and ate bacon and eggs a few days ago and no veggies or carbs for that day, now Ive stabilized on the McDougal diet or way of eating with potatoes, brown rice and no oil/fat/salt (tiny amounts) but in my research I found that palpitations can come from the kidneys and lack of potassium, magnesium and so the ideas is to up these foods like avocado, bananas, potatoes, green leafy veggies … I was wondering, if you drop potassium, mag, phos … won't you be probe to palpitations form electrolyte imbalances?
And why didnt the guy wash the Quinoa a few times to get the bitter taste out?
Great food. So glad to hear that Jeremy is doing well. My brother in law just passed and one of his big problems was kidney failure. He felt he was "eating better" but never would do this thing 100%. His choice, but we'll miss him.
Very rough rode
Thank you! More please
I eat raw local honey is that not good? Or do agave? Dates, bananas, my potassium is ok
Soon
I am on low protein l son will be on dialysis, I take phosphorus binders
I'm so glad you made this video! I used to work in a hospital, and I wondered what sort of foods you could eat as a vegan on dialysis.
How was the eggplant?? I see it wasn't "treated" with salt (for obvious reasons) to draw out the bitterness.
I loved this! My mother is on dialysis and having someone make renal friendly vegan meals is WONDERFUL!!! I learned so much and really enjoyed the science behind it!! What is Jeremy's favorite meal? Could you make more of these videos?!
My Brother and Sister-In-Law have a Friend who is waiting for a kidney transplant….I shared the link to this video with them. You made a heathy and flavorful bowl that anyone can enjoy.
I have MCD, which basically means that when my kidneys aren’t in remission they reject protein. I thank you so so so much for this video.
Not all kidney diseases are alike. My sister has Bartter's syndrome, her body depletes sodium, magnesium and especially potassium. (she is not on dialysis) So saying this low sodium, magnesium and potassium diet is for everyone is incorrect. But I will say, my mom is a kidney dialysis nurse and has told me numerous times how you can't be vegetarian on dialysis, let alone vegan, so this video, one i've never seen before is really great and very appreciated.
Thank you SO MUCH for doing this. As someone who is close to someone on dialysis, I am always looking for the 'can's' to eat. People in this position are inundated with the 'cant's' and that can be very disheartening. So happy for you Jeremy, thanks for sharing your story!😊
Wait but isn't Jeremy vegan? I'm sorry for asking, but how was his kidneys failing?
Thank you for this!! My mom is in stage 3 of chronic kidney disease and the nightmare of getting her to eat and the list goes on… I know that blood work is the driver of what one can eat while trying to fight to live, but someone finally shared a video that gives you info and recipes. I got info from this that my mom’s doctor’s have not given me. I’m beyond grateful! Thank you!! Hope to see more!
Jeremy, I am wishing you all the world of wellness <3
