Woman Who Underwent Historic Double Transplant Surgery To Get New Kidney
A woman who made history as the first person in the Western U.S. to have double transplant surgeries for her...
A bone marrow transplant is a medical procedure performed to replace bone marrow that has been damaged or destroyed by disease, infection, or chemotherapy. This procedure involves transplanting blood stem cells, which travel to the bone marrow where they produce new blood cells and promote growth of new marrow.
Good call on the song.
I’m donating on Wednesday. Thank you for the video! Definitely helpful.

Just found out I’m a match today and I’m really excited to be a donor. Thanks for this video.
U get bone marrow from your bones… How are they doing it this way… This makes me think about donating plasma which i have but normally your there 30min-hr…. Im confused
Love you guys. More people should do it. I'm researching how I could donate here in Saudi Arabia and it seems to be the same process
They could have done it together 💕
"Bethematch.org" still says the process is one of two ways:
1) Peripheral blood cell (PBSC) donation involves removing a donor's blood through a needle in one arm. The blood is passed through a machine that separates out the cells used in transplants. The remaining blood is returned through the other arm.
2) Bone marrow donation is a surgical procedure in which liquid marrow is withdrawn from the back of the donor's pelvic bones using needles. Anesthesia is always used for this procedure, so donors feel no pain during marrow donation. Most donors feel some pain in their lower back for a few days afterwards.
Is this true?
The music is overpowering and annoying.
Thanks for sharing! I'm headed to Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa, FL for stem cells transplant to my brother with cancer of the bone marrow. Very thankful to be an 11 out of 12 point sibling match! Your an angel!
Looking into this. Did the swab Sunday & am now doing all of my research.

I was just matched to someone last week and I’m excited to possibly help save someone’s life. It’s such a small thing to do with such a big reward. Thanks for the video, i hope it help people want to donate.
Wish this had more info… or got to the point faster without all the music and pics of trees. I had to stop watching.
I JUST RESIVED A LETTER THAT I might be a MATCH. ON 4'/26/19. I WAS WORRIED BUT THANKS TO THIS VIDEO. I FEEL BETTER. BUT NO WAY WOULD I BACK DOWN NO MATTER WHAT THANK YOU

I was considering donating but was scared. I'm going to register tonight. Thanks for the video
I just signed up to be a donor. Thank you for showing me what I’m in for.
Hi, just to let you know is bethematch.org not .com 🙂
And thanks for sharing the process, I just joined the registry
I just had my transplant last month! There’s a video about it on my channel!
Rachael, you are a ROCK STAR !!!!! May God bless you richly for your generosity! May God bless Dustin for his dedication to you through this procedure! May God continue to bless and keep you both in His loving arms!
Please get rid of the loud background music. I really wanted to watch the video, but the music made it hard to listen to the speaker, so I left. Also , in my humble opinion, the music was annoying
Hi, I have a question. I know you did this a few months ago. How you doing? I’m getting blood draw on Thursday to check compatibility. I’m 27, married. My parents don’t approve what I want to do. Which I really don’t care. I’ve made mi mind. My mother specially concern of down the road problems. How you doing so far? I’d appreciate any feedback, thank you 😊
Great job guys!
I just did my swab today.
I just signed up to be a donor. Sharing is caring
WOW! Amazing like you said it’s not like how it used to be so I think the more it gets out there more people will donate. You should be very proud of her. 🙏🏻
Good on you, guys!
Thank you for this video, one of my friends needed a bone marrow transplant we had a bonemerrow dive for him I got tested but wasn't a match but might be for someone else some;day. its great to know what to expecpt. if im ever called upon.
Don't you have to take medicine beforehand to "plump up" the bone marrow they're taking out? I looked into donating and saw that you had to take meds and one of the side effects was arthritis, which I already have.
Also, totally off topic, but do you still wear the self-lacing sneakers from Casey?
Your video helped me go register today
Is the needle a lot bigger for this or is it the same size as a regular blood donation?
I can’t wait to report this video for copyright infringement
Good on ya! Just sent my swabs back and this vid has helped calm me. I thought it would be worse 🙂
how'd she get sick? you said around 6:00 in the vid. Just felt nauseous or threw up?
Does donated bone marrow regenerate in healthy donors?
Not me, It hurt like Hell
What happens when you gotta pee?
great job Dustin 🙂
very good video presentation 🙂
